Language Company President Speaks at International Learning Conference
January 18, 2007 - International Language Services, Inc.'s (ILS) founder and President Arlene M. Jullie joined hundreds of teachers and trainers from 18 countries in Austin, TX at the International Alliance for Learning's (IAL) 32nd annual conference during the week of January 11-14. The International Alliance for Learning is a non-profit professional membership organization for Accelerated Learning practitioners and others who wish to improve the quality of learning for all. Conference participants share IAL's vision of a world where lifelong learning, joy and esteem are honored as universal human capabilities.
During the IAL conference Jullie presented a 2-hour workshop entitled: "Che? Ci? Chi? Demystifying Italian" to demonstrate techniques that demystify sounds and secrets to make language learning easier. This unique presentation was based on her book, "Quick-Start Spanish: Everything You Need to Know Before You Start or Restart Spanish." (McGraw Hill, 2000).
Jullie, who was born and raised in Brazil, has taught Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian using Accelerated Learning techniques for the past 22 years. Her company, International Language Services, Inc., based in Minneapolis, MN, originated as a language school, offering language classes to corporate executives and employees in a unique format promising conversational competence in just 12 days, or 84 hours of training. Jullie continues to offer classes in Minneapolis and on-site for corporations and groups around the United States.
