International Language Services (ILS) has begun publishing Tips for Translation, an educational tool offering practical information to professionals involved in translations.

Tips for Translation is published 6 to 8 times per year and is available by e-mail subscription or on the ILS corporate website http://www.ilstranslations.com. Each tip covers a specific topic drawn from ILS’ 25+ years of experience providing translation services to businesses. Topics addressed so far in 2009 include formatting foreign character sets, distributor provided translations and web site translation projects.

“As a provider of translation services, we see first hand what works and what doesn’t for client projects, says Barb Sichel, Director of Business Development at ILS. “Clients lacking a good understanding of how the translation process works and what impacts cost, often request quotes for projects that are unnecessarily complex. By proactively educating the market place, we can help more clients get their projects approved and executed smoothly.”

ILS provides translations of technical documentation, operating manuals, marketing materials and other business communications into over 100 languages. The Tips e-newsletter communicates specific information to save clients money and help them avoid common errors. The tips are illustrated with real world examples drawn from experiences of ILS clients.
